Around 3 years ago, when YouTube had just launched short-form videos to compete with TikTok, content creators flocked to the platform to take advantage of the opportunity.I was one of them. I promoted my dropshipping products by creatingShorts with links leading to my product pages.It was so easy to gain subscribers and drive traffic to sell my products.Then YouTube woke up and decided to remove clickable links in Shorts.In other words, you can still include links in the description, but they won’t be clickable.

So what do they want us to do?

They want Shorts to act as teasers for long-form videos—like movie trailers.If viewers like the teaser, they can go watch the full version.And links in long-form videos are clickable.

So how do we make this work?

They introduced a feature called “Related Video.”Just link it to your desired long-form content.

In conclusion:

Use Shorts to build your subscriber base.Use long-form videos to drive traffic to your landing page.
