Game-Based Funnel Inspired by $50K/Day Flappy Bird

Some of you may have heard of or even played a game called Flappy Bird.

The game was created by a Vietnamese developer named Ha Dong Nguyen.

The user interface is simple, and the gameplay is straightforward:

You tap repeatedly on a mobile screen, or press the spacebar on your laptop keyboard,

to keep the little bird hovering in the air.If the bird hits any tube, it dies.

The game ends, and you must start over from zero.

This game may look simple and silly, but it’s highly addictive.

When it launched about 10 years ago, it became viral globally and

stayed on the top of Google Play and the App Store.

The creator monetized the game by placing Google Ads in it.

He made $50,000 a day and quickly became a millionaire in 4 weeks.

When President Barack Obama visited Vietnam, he met Ha Dong

and had lunch with him to discuss entrepreneurship for youth.

Unfortunately, the pressure was too much for Ha Dong,

and he eventually decided to remove the game from Google Play

and the App Store.

I decided to optimize the game to fit the context of my business.

The optimized version now has two major goals:Grow the eStage

community by encouraging players to sharethe game on social media or via Gmail.

Sell my product by offering a discount to players who win the game.

So how does it work?

When a community member is about to leave, an exit popup appears and

invites them to play a fun game for a chance to win a discount.

The more they play, the more addicted they become—because they

almost reach the winning point (which you can customize).

Each time they lose, a popup asks if they want to share the game on social media

or via email to earn bonus points for the next round (this can also be customized).

As the game is shared, your offer reaches more people.

This increases the chances of attracting new community members and boosts product sales.

You may think that people may shareand then delete the post but that doesn't matter.

As long as your offeris showed to other people for a while that is good enough.

By the way, this game will make players desperate to earn points,

so they may pretend to share it at first just to get the bonus points.

But as their desire to win grows stronger, they won’t bother deleting the social shares—they’ll just

rush back to the game as quickly as possible. As a result, their shared posts will remain

on their social media accounts.

Don't take my word for it, just play the game.

When the player reaches to the winning point, a popup willshow

with the coupon code and "Claim Now" button.

When hitting "Claim Now", the product link will open on a new tab for

the player to buy the product.

Since Flappy Bird is a viral game, your game-based funnel has a high chance of going viral too.
